Our 3/21/21 - Moving literally tons and tons of dirt...permit was issued on February 26th. Since then it's been a flurry of activity and inspections: staking out the house (thank you, Joey Canosa!) concrete footings, pouring the walls, plumbing groundworks, scheduling material deliveries and coordinating crews. This is the first project that I've been "the super" on - usually I'm doing all of the font end coordination, but once the customer signs they are turned over to their superintendent. All I can say is, God Bless our supers! There is a reason that general contractors exist. There are mountains of paperwork, approvals, inspections, schedules to be coordinated, purchase orders to be issued, deliveries, etc... and that doesn't take in to account the daily work supervision requirements. Construction is never a perfect process. Whether it is a success or failure depends on how you handle the issues that come up. You can do your best to communicate, but there are still mistakes that happen that force split second decisions and changes which require flexibility and thinking on your feet. Thank goodness for Armon, Tony and Conrad. Tony and Armon have worked for our company since I was a kid. I don't remember a time when they weren't part of our Graystone Family. I am blessed to have them...they answer my calls and come running to help every time. Conrad is our purchasing agent and has helped me save thousands by price shopping and coordinating things for me.
